Trust me - you don't want the paper thin (0.5mm) steel shelves on offer here from most sellers, unless you don't plan to do any serious work on your bench. They are basically pieces of tin with a few supports underneath and will bend at the & drop of a hat.

We’ve been there and done that and don't sell them anymore.
The shelves we supply with our workbenches are made from 17mm thick plywood that will take a hammering without bending buckling or breaking.
