The interior coating of these new baths are made from vitreous enamel, a glass powder that melts into the red hot bath castng in the production process. This gives these baths a much stronger, longer lasting finish than resurfaced or restored baths which are generally just repainted with a 2 pack paint or similar. You cannot get the same bonding as the original enameling process of new or vintage baths if the restoration process does not include heating the bath to over 800 degrees in a furnace.

By: Patricia Phillips on 27 March 2018This bath is value for money. I would recommend this bath. It is a solid heavy cast iron bath and the feet are very well made. The only thing I would mention is that the outside of the bath is not glossy like the enamel on the inside and if it was possible I would definitely suggest that a glossy outside would make this bath exceptional.
